The Pursuit of Perfection
Mark Shaw and Bill Hines
Striving for perfection can fall into many categories, and while Christians are to “do all for the glory of God,” does that mean we are to hold ourselves to a level of perfection that is impossible to attain? And even if we could attain it, is that what God really calls us to do? The difference between God’s laws for obedience and our self-imposed expectations must be understood in order for a person who is a “perfectionist” to experience freedom. In this booklet we will identify some areas of our lives where we might find ourselves caught in the trap of trying to reach perfection when, in reality, our efforts may not bring glory to God at all.
