Safe at Home - Digital Defense Strategies for Shepherding Young Hearts by Grant Cummings

About the book

The digital battle for your child's heart and mind has already begun. Every day, Christian families face new questions about screens, social media, gaming, AI, and the endless stream of content and emerging technology flowing into their homes. Too often, parents drift toward one of two extremes: locking down every device in fear, or exhausted surrender to a battle that feels unwinnable.

safe@home offers a different path. Drawing on real-world experience in cybersecurity and family ministry, Grant Cummings shows that every technology struggle is ultimately a heart struggle. Filters and time limits matter, but they cannot reach the idolatries driving digital sin, whether it's the craving for approval, the pull of pornography, or the pursuit of achievement. The goal isn't just to restrict and protect, but to train up kingdom-minded users of technology.

From the Foreword

"What I appreciate most is the book's refusal of the two unbiblical extremes that Christian parents drift toward: fortress-style isolation on the one side and exhausted surrender on the other. Grant offers a third way that is patient, gospel-saturated, and grounded in the local church. Read it, work the steps, and put it into the hands of the parents and youth workers in your congregation."
