About: Diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

It may be your greatest fear coming true or something you never thought would happen to you. Either way, breast cancer has entered your life and turned it upside down. Now you're wondering how you're going to make it through: Are you going to be alright? Is your family going to be okay? And where is God in your struggle? Has he deserted you?

Joni Eareckson Tada, herself a survivor of breast cancer, walks with you through the struggles and questions that naturally arise in the face of suffering and offers you hope through Christ. With the understanding, wisdom, and grace that comes from experience, she points the way to a deepening trust and hope in the God who provides daily grace and strength even in the midst of great suffering.

About the Author

Author Joni Eareckson Tada heads up Joni and Friends, a worldwide ministry to people with disabilities and their families, and is the best-selling author of many helpful gospel-centered Christian books, including When God Weeps and A Place of Healing: Wrestling with the Mysteries of Suffering, Pain, and God’s Sovereignty.

“I feel as though forty-five years of quadriplegia have given me a unique insight into God's Word and life’s challenges,” Joni explains. “It’s as though my disability has given me the opportunity to ‘test’ the truths of the Bible; my wheelchair has served as a kind of ‘laboratory’ through which timeless principles of God's Word can be tried and affirmed." As a result, many people worldwide have been touched by Joni’s reflections on discipleship and suffering.

Joni Eareckson Tada has always has a heart to share with others what God has been teaching her through studying his Word and even through her wheelchair. “In the past, I’ve written on prayer, God's sovereignty, healing, and suffering. But in 2010, when I discovered I had stage 3 breast cancer, little did I know God was preparing me to learn a new slew of lessons about myself and about his grace to sustain. I hope that the reader will see that the insights I gleaned from battling breast cancer can help them conquer their own fears and anxieties about cancer—and come out the other end all the better for it.”
